CasselWeb2, a pure-JAVA web-application, provides researchers with a set of tools for managing experimental subjects and experiments in an academic environment. The software solution offers convenient web interfaces for students to register in the system and sign up for experiments. It provides a web-based calendar view of experiments scheduled in the lab. Finally, it offers administrators and experimenters a set of tools for scheduling and modifying experiments, inventorying experimental data, and managing subject database.

The external web interfaces of CasselWeb2 are implemented using the JSP/Servlet technology (2.4/2.0) and the MVC centric Jakarta-Struts framework. The application uses its own customized object-relational persistence layer to guarantee database vendor neutrality. Besides the addition of quite a few new features, the new version is generally more stable, customizable and maintainable.
